Job Context

• The key purpose of this position is to carry out the duties and responsibilities of Supervision Engineer for the project `Improved WASH Services at Makeshift Camps in Cox`s Bazar` to ensure effective implementation of WASH interventions maintaining standards and quality by ensuring necessary technical support to the project and utilising resources for implementation. Being an implementation partner of UNICEF, NGO Forum is looking for a qualified individual to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the `Improved WASH Services at Makeshift Camps in Cox`s Bazar project`.
• The position is the task to take a lead in the implementation of the construction related activities in the target areas. The work includes conducting technical assessment following the best-practices in the construction. S/he will work closely with the facilitation & supervision of the construction related works, and provide additional technical skills to the beneficiaries for the proper construction. Under the guidance of Project Manager, the Supervision Engineer will assist in various engineering activities ranging from planning, preparation and review to contract administration, design and estimate construction plan, and monitoring the quality of WASH implementation.

Job Description / Responsibility

• Assist the Project Manager in overall planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of the project.
• Drawing, design and construction or rehabilitation of different types of WASH facilities as well as collaborative work with logistic to support follow up of quotations collection, quotation evaluation, contractor selection, contracts signing, orders and purchases.
• Technical supervision and cross checking of hardware construction materials of water & sanitation facilities before installation with specifications, drawing, design and quality.
• Conduct pre-feasibility and feasibility of the construction related works.
• Responsible for feasibility survey, design, prepare the estimation of quantities and cost detailed drawings and other necessary documents of WASH intervention.
• To maintain up-to-date records of all field level activities to show a status of the work, the status of construction materials, equipment at store and construction site.
• Conduct regular monitoring and full technical supervision and provide technical inputs to the beneficiaries.
• Perform project management functions; calculate project quantities; prepare project cost estimates, specifications and coordinate activities with other external agencies in the target area.
• Manage construction contract by providing engineering support during project construction and process contract change orders and design revisions.
• Attend various internal and external meetings regarding engineering topics or issues and respond to questions and inquiries from various individuals, groups and organizations regarding engineering issues.
• To support the Project Manager in preparing monthly progress report(s).

Job Nature Contractual Educational Requirements A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering/ Civil &Environmental Engineering with 3 (Three) years of working experience in Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) projects or Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 07 (Seven) years of experiences in WASH Project. • Age 30 to 40 year(s)
• Professional work experience in different WASH project implementation, monitoring and reporting.
• Experience in the design, construction and supervision of WASH infrastructure.
• Proficient knowledge of standard computer software (AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel and project management software)
• Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities
• Have knowledge on qualitative and quantitative M&E system, large data based management, monitoring of WASH based programs and socio economic status.
• Good communication and networking skills both in Bangla & English
